i heard people say that the neocities editor was a pain so i was a little prepared but i didn't expect just how bad this has felt to use sometimes.
to be fair, i think some of the issues were on my end, but...still such a pain to figure out what was wrong.
it seems like it's working now, at least.

i think that web browsers are sort of just big file viewers
you're just viewing html files that you're given the locations for
in sort of the same way that you look through your computer's file explorer

maybe that's not really accurate. i don't know. it's just what it looks like to me.
but it's nice to remember that you can kind of just do anything
as long as you can wrestle with the code to make it happen, a webpage can be whatever you want
it doesn't have to be anything. it doesn't have to be a "website"

i don't know how to code very well, though. as of writing, at least.
so i can't really do a whole lot of "anything" yet.
i can't focus on tutorials, so there's always been a very big wall between my desire to learn, and the ability to actually do it.
the only way i can learn how to do things like this is to just simply start doing it through sheer willpower and look up how to do shit as i go along
which is where we are now.
i remembered that you don't have to do things the right way.

since i don't have to make a "website"
in the way that everyone thinks when they hear the word "website"
with consistent structure and form
with sidebars and headers and navigation
with utilitarian design
since i don't have to make a "website"
i know now that i can just have fun and do what i want
and go fucking crazy!!!!!
